Java 8 and WorkSite Indexer 8.5

Oracle will stop posting public updates to Java 7 after April 2015 (https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_7.xml).  For those with automatic updates enabled, they will also start updating Java 7 installs to Java 8 with the release of Java SE 8 Update 31 (Java SE 8u31), due in January 2015 (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/documentation/autoupdatejre7tojre8-2389085.html).  Java 8 is not yet certified for WorkSite Indexer 8.5 so it is advised to disable automatic updates of Java to avoid any potential issues.  If you have tried disabling Java updates in the past only to find that they remain enabled, you may need to run the Java Control Panel applet using the ‘Run as administrator’ option for the setting to apply (https://www.java.com/en/download/help/javacpl.xml).
